Jack-O’Blast. Yes, that’s the name. It’s Captain Morgan’s new limited edition pumpkin spiced rum, and I got to try it this week, courtesy of the brand. It has those fall flavors – cinnamon, spices and real pumpkin – and it’s so smooth. THIS is what to drink at your Halloween parties this weekend.

For me, I’m not very festive during Halloween (…it’s just too hyped up. I mean, we’re not even getting free candy anymore!), but this is a great way to hide your disdain for the holiday, and smooth over your scrooge-like exterior with some surface-level holiday cheer.

Here are four easy ways to use Jack-O’Blast in your Halloween cocktail. Warning: they get increasingly lazy as you go:

Captain’s Cauldron

Seemingly fancy (I just love the illusion of fanciness), this is a cool, festive punch to have available at a Halloween party. Everyone helps themselves!

1.5 oz. Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast

2 oz. orange juice

1 oz. cranberry juice

Optional: 1 oz. club soda topper

Lemon wedge – squeezed

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a glass filled with ice, stir and garnish with a lemon wedge.

Pumpkin Spice Hot Toddy

For the chill Halloween party, or a night in, use the rum in a soothing Hot Toddy. Substitute the whiskey for the rum, and snuggle up.

1 oz (2 tablespoons) Jack-O’Blast rum

1 tablespoon honey

2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup boiling-hot water

Directions: Put rum, honey and lemon into a mug. Pour boiling-hot water over the ingredients and allow the honey to melt.

Frat-Guy on Halloween

Yes, this one goes out to the classic frat guys who do Halloween in the laziest way possible. It still counts as festive!

1 oz. Jack-O’Blast shot

4 oz. Lager

Directions: Drop shot of Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast in a glass of lager beer and enjoy.

Un-Basic Pumpkin Spiked Latte

Literally buy or make a latte, and put a shot (or two) of Jack-O’Blast in it. Not kidding. This “Pumpkin Spiked Latte” is the perfect pre-game as you get dressed in your way-too-expensive costume.
