The Ultimate Free and Cheap Guide to New York City Museums and Monuments

There are a ton of awesome museums in New York City that you can see totally free, contrary to popular belief. “Meh New York is so expensive…” WELL IS IT, but there are real ways to make it cheaper for yo’self, especially when it comes to museums.

Below you will find :

  • A list of cool totally free museums by borough
  • “Sometimes free” museums by day (lots of museums have certain “free hours”)
  • Museums with “suggested admission” (a.k.a. as long as you pay more than $0, you can get in..ahem…The Met…)
  • Parks and monuments you can just walk right up to (hellooooo Alexander Hamilton!)

I’ll keep this as updated as possible for you. Be sure to check this when you visit NYC, or if you live here already, check it when you’re planning your fabulous free weekend!
