A Day with A Dude in New York City

While The Ultimate Girls’ Getaway to NYC has been written, it’s time to pay attention to the dudes. I’ve decided to bring the men to Brooklyn first, where it’s all about wide open spaces, whiskey, meats and hot sauce in a very simplistic format. Then, on to Manhattan for the evening to experience a FAB comedy show, a bar with a bunch of distractions and a place that serves up the best food I’ve ever eaten. Note: All the activities below have been tried and tested.

dudes

  1. King’s County Whiskey Distillery
  2. Fette Sau – BBQ
  3. Heatonist – hot sauce tasting
  4. Coffee Break at Diviera Drive
  5. Comedy Cellar
  6. Fat Cat
  7. Quality Eats

2:00 p.m. – King’s County Whiskey Distillery: When the first stop on the list includes whiskey tasting, you know it’s going to be a good day. Check out my latest post about what to expect on the tour and how to get in the building (yes, there’s a very specific entrance.)

3:30 p.m. – Uber over to Fette Sau, an amazing BBQ spot in Williamsburg. You MUST order the brisket…anddddd a little bit of everything else.

4:30 p.m. – Take a little walk to get through the food coma, over to Heatonist, a hot sauce tasting bar and store.

5:00 p.m. – After you explode your taste buds, take a little coffee break at Diviera Drive.

6:00 p.m. – Grab the L train and see a Comedy Cellar show in the West Village (must buy tickets in advance). I hear that big name comedians sometimes show up unannounced. (Louie…ahem).

8:00 p.m. – Play some ping pong while simultaneously listening to jazz at Fat Cat. Go early to avoid the crowds.

9:30 p.m. – You definitely need a reservation for New York’s absolute best new restaurant, Quality Eats. Check out what I ate there…pay attention to the bacon dish.

That’s a wrap! Help me share this itinerary and make many dudes (and girls too!) very very happy.
