When it seems like New York City has used every inch of space on this 13-mile-long island, they surprise me again. The High Line was a great example of this – an old, raised railroad track converted into a park. Now, future New Yorkers will experience an underground park, along the path of an old trolley line.
You don’t have to wait years to see the Lowline in action, you can go have a sneak preview of it at the Lowline lab. It’s basically a mini-Lowline, allowing scientists to tell which species live best underground.
How is it all done? I don’t know. I simply am not a scientist. That is why you must go and check it out for yourself.
It is definitely mindblowingly cool, and it’s totally free.
